STANDARDS |
Hollingworth Lake Water Activity Centre is affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association which is the national governing body responsible for sailing, windsurfing and Powerboating in Britain. Many of our courses are based on R.Y.A. awards, (further details of which can be obtained from the course log books which are issued as part of the course). The relevant certificates will be awarded on successful completion of all aspects of the course.
All kayak and canoe courses are run by qualified instructors of the British Canoe Union which is the national governing body for all kayaking and canoeing in Britain. Instructors work within the guidelines of the B.C.U. to provide courses in the adult and junior award schemes. The relevant certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of all aspects of the course.
Our climbing and walking sessions are run by qualified instructors and are dependant upon reasonable weather conditions. They are governed by the British Mountaineering Council and Mountain Leader Training Board.
All watersports courses are dependent upon favourable wind and weather conditions. For example, light winds are essential for beginners whilst stronger winds are essential for more advanced courses. Therefore scheduled courses may sometimes have to be postponed to a later date if weather conditions prove unsuitable.
Hollingworth Lake Water Activity Centre reserves the right to cancel courses that do not attract the minimum number of participants. Should this be the case, we will endeavour to offer an alternative course or provide a full refund.
